PRESS RELEASES
The Starkville Area Arts Council is pleased to announce its 6th Annual StarShine Weekend, with events celebrating the culinary arts. The Bistro at the State Theatre will host the weekend’s events, scheduled for August 7-8, 2009. Robert St.John is headlining as Celebrity Chef.
StarShine kicks off on Friday, August 7, with an ol’ fashioned southern cook-off. Carnell McGee of Harvey’s Restaurant is ready to face stiff competition from local chefs in an effort to hold on to his “Best of StarShine” title.
Events continue on Saturday with a cooking class led by Chef St.John, who will demonstrate his skills and techniques in the kitchen while preparing some of his favorite dishes. Best of all, participants will enjoy the fruits of his labor!
StarShine culminates Saturday evening when Chef St.John prepares an exceptional four-course meal complete with wine pairings. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on StarShine Auction packages, including dinner parties with local chefs and a fabulous vacation package.
