2011 recommendation form

The Starkville Area Arts Council offers scholarships for Starkville/Oktibbeha area youth interested in advanced training in the arts. The amounts given to individual students may be in amounts of $50.00, $75.00, $100.00, $250.00 or up to $500.00. The scholarship money may be used to support private instruction in the arts: group lessons, private lessons, tuition for a workshop or summer camp, competition fees, or other activities that lead to the artistic development of the scholarship recipient. The money will be divided among worthy youths.

Students requesting the SAAC Arts Training Scholarship must be between 10 and 18 years old, not yet attending college, and should be accepted to advance training (lessons, workshops, conferences, competitions, etc.).

Recommendation forms should be completed by the student’s current artistic mentor(s) addressing the commitment and skill level demonstrated by the student, and should be sent directly by the mentor(s) to the SAAC Scholarship Committee at the address below.

Applications will be reviewed by the SAAC Scholarship Committee.

All applicants will be contacted personally when final committee decisions are made, and an announcement of the winners will appear in the Starkville Daily News and the SAAC Newsletter.

Money will be paid directly to the sponsoring body or arts instructor.

Completed applications and recommendations should be mailed to:
