ARTS IN EDUCATION GRANTS
The Starkville Area Arts Council accepts applications for Arts in Education Grants each Fall. Awards are given for innovative projects in a fine arts or performing arts classroom or projects in any classroom or school that incorporate the visual arts, music, theatre, dance, or literature into the curriculum.
Classroom grants of up to $200.00 are awarded to classroom teachers for projects that affect only one class of students. General grants of up to $500.00 are awarded for projects that affect several classes, the entire school, or that may affect students for many years. Any faculty member or administrator may apply for the grants.
Applications might request funding for project related needs including art supplies, materials, resources, equipment, guest artists or performers, and/or transportation for fieldtrips to exhibits or performances. Applications must include the teacher’s signature and the signature of an administrator at the school. Starkville Area Arts Council requests that a final report that describes the success of the project be sent to the council after the awarded projects are completed.
